Sage was an "in love with you" kind of dog- but only with his handler, Bailee. Sage is Bailee's heart dog and task-trained Service Dog. He was serious about his work, always excited for it, and he did it amazingly. He was food driven, loved playing in groups, and even hunting for mice and rabbits! He was a UKC Champion and the kind of dog that will never leave his person's side.

Meeting Sage- he was friendly, but he was very aloof with all. He had eyes for one person (and dogs.) He was tolerant of most anything, cat-friendly, a bit of a drama queen, but gentle and perfect with every pet and human, big or small. He was a bit obsessed with ice cream and cheese haha.

He was produced by Melissa Pearce, and then purchased by someone who neglected him, resulting in him being Heartworm positive when Bailee purchased him. He went through this treatment successfully in 2018-2019. 

Sage was diagnosed with Nasal Adenocarcinoma in the end of December 2025 and went through 3 rounds of Stereotactic Radiation the week of January 15, 2026. On August 7, 2026 he started internally bleeding from what was likely Hemangiosarcoma. He was completely fine on August 6, and had to be let go for his quality of life the next day. 

He will be forever loved, forever missed.

He was everything I ever wanted in a dog. Everything I will ever want.

He was literally perfect in every way.

I miss him immeasurably.
